The group exhibition that Sam Robson and I have been organising over the past 18 months or so, ‘Creative Connections in Cheshire’ has had a little mention in Cheshire Life Magazine. What’s more, we might be lucky and get more coverage in a future issue as their photographer might be visiting the coffee morning networking event we’ve arranged with Sue France. Let’s see what gets into print:0)
If you’ve not seen any previous mentions of this collaboration Sam Robson and I met each other virtually in 2022 through Sue France’s business networking group Sue France Creative Connecting in Cheshire which attracts businesswomen from all sectors and walks of life across Cheshire and surrounding areas. Sam was still having to shield so I as we shared a passion for art I suggested we had some zoom and phone calls.
During our first conversation, I said that I’d noticed that there were now more than a dozen artists amongst the 1300 members of joined Sue’s network and with that Sam and I said why not host an art exhibition? We suggested it to Sue as a great event to celebrate her forthcoming retirement planned for 2024 and the title of our exhibition reflected her network name. Sue was delighted and suggested that she host a coffee network morning to launch the exhibition.
All (ha ha!) Sam and I had to do was to encourage the other artists to engage with our project, curate the artwork for ourselves and them, find a venue and then do all the work behind the scenes for marketing, organising and planning for a group exhibition including hanging the artworks. It’s been a busy project for the two of us but delighted that 4 other artists from Sue’s network were able to join us for this exhibition. More updates in due course.
The Creative Connections in Cheshire Art Exhibition will run from 15 May to 22 June 2024, Tues to Sat, 10 am to 4 pm. With the launch reception 7 -9 pm on Friday 17 May 2024. There will be new exhibitions in the various galleries throughout Castle Park Art Centre. Our exhibition will be located upstairs in Gallery 3. Free entry and free parking.
