Rombauld's Moor Watercolour Painting

Mounted Size: 40cm x 30cm (16in by 12in)

Do you like a bit of folklore and mystery? I do. This piece is called "Rombaulds Moor". Which I created from a photograph when I visited Ilkley in Yorkshire. Rombalds Moor is said to be named after local folklore legend "Rombald the Giant" The landscape looks like it's been shaped by the hands of giants.

This quote is taken from the Yorkshire Post "Awash with craggy outcrops, gritstone and rough land overgrown with heather, bracken and wild grass, the landscape is perhaps most well-known for its distinctive rock carvings. From hanging stones and boulders to huge flat slabs, more than 400 rocks carvings (known as 'cup and ring' stones) can be found dotted around the moor.”

Well worth a visit if you are ever in that area of England.

NB artwork is supplied with a mount.
Any frames in photos are for display purposes only. I work in imperial so metric sizes are just for guidance.
